Batch upload depictions to make batch uploading images easier. #2905

Open kandakoj opened 2 years ago

Feature or enhancement

Example: I have 250 photos of 50 collection objects that are already digitized in TaxonWorks, I want to batch upload the images (I can do this in the New Images Task), but I also want to batch upload depictions when the batch contains images with differing depictions.

In the simplest form, maybe taxonworks can accommodate a csv with one column being the file names, another being type of data being depicted (e.g., collection object, OTU), and another column for the catalogue number/identifier of the specific object being depicted.

This is straightforward except for the "match on filename". It would be better to use SHA values. That means we would have to be able to report them in a way that you could get them out of TW, or we would have to point you at how to calculate them on your own prior to them going into TW.
