Bug - CSD - Save option disrupted/stopped working until page refreshed #3760

Closed AntWeb-org closed 7 months ago

AntWeb-org commented 10 months ago

Steps to reproduce the bug

I was making various updates to fields in the CSD task and saving my work (Geographic area, Verbatim collecting event and Custom Attributes).

At some point I noticed that the Save option no longer displayed the prompt at the bottom of the screen indicating "all records were successfully saved". Checking multiple COs, the updates were not saved.

There was no alternate pop up suggesting an unsuccessful save, only the spinning TW lizard logo then the return to the CSD page.

I checked the updated COs in the CO Match task for good measure and the updates were also not reflected there.

The Save option began working again after a period of time - the prompt reappearing - but I will have to re-do the updates for those COs.

Expected behavior

I would like the Save option to save. I did not realize the prompt stopped working or that the saves were no longer saving.

Also, the site was muted so I could listen to music while making multiple updates, so I am not sure if the Save jingle was there or not. Maybe this was a glitch specific to my Project/computer, or if there was a TW update perhaps it disrupted something.

Update: I was fixing the COs that would not save in the CSD and TW stopped saving again. I unmuted the site and the jingle also did not happen upon saving (as well as the missing prompt). I refreshed the page and it started saving once more. Cached issue upon # of saves maybe?

One of the requests could be failing, this task performs many saving actions for each type of object. I'm going to change the way chaining works so that it notifies when it fails

Great! It happened once more and the page refresh worked but the not saving is happened sooner now.
