diacritic picker side bar

As a user, I want to have a diacritic picker as a side bar. A slider which opens on a side (next to pinboard), where I can select a letter and paste to a text. Every time I have a diacritic letter (Source, author, label, etc.), I have to switch to an external application. The list of letters is copied from wiktionary. Historically we've closed this issue several times. Replicating functionality that is better done with platform specific app, web resource, etc. is not a priority for native functionality.

Possible solutions:

• System tools (I know, these are not all equivalent and you don't like this current solution)

  • macOS - You can keep a super highly customized list out with the Character viewer- see: https://www.macworld.com/article/232439/how-to-find-and-insert-special-characters-in-macos.html
• Create your own one-page HTML index, and load it in your browers, switch back and forth to that tab, ensuire that clicking auto-copies it to your clipboard.
• Use existing websites that summarize these open in a tab/browser
