Many thanks for the interest @mrhunsaker. Sorry for the delay in getting back to you, I've been away and am only getting back into the swing of things this week. The reason why we currently only have Nemeth is that the Big Ten sponsored it at the time, as that was the system they were interested in. But UEB is indeed somewhere on the roadmap, however, there is currently set date when it could happen. So your contribution would be greatly appreciated as it would speed things up.
I'll be very busy before CSUN the week after next, but afterwards we could have a chat on how you could contribute.
I guess we both got overwhelmed with our schedule as I just realized I have been underwater for a bit. I am happy to open a branch or fork the repo to play with definitions for UEB Technical that mirror the Nemeth work that has already been done.
No problems. I've just been away for a bit myself.
I am about to do some more debugging on the Nemeth part and in particular make changes to how how functions, units etc. are transcribed. There might be some effects wrt. UEB, too. So maybe we could have a call some time next week to coordinate.
That works. I was sitting on it anyway (I am a teacher for the blind and my schools just opened)

I've sent you an email to your icloud address so we can coordinate.
I was wondering if anyone is actively working on a UEB Technical math braille output to parallel the Nemeth outputs? In the US, BANA has decided to allow both math/science languages to exist in parallel, much to the chagrin of folks like myself that teach braille to students.
Unfortunately, some stated are UEB+Nemeth (so Nemeth for math/science) and others are UEB+UEB Technical for the math/scientific braille code. This is a huge pain as far too often students learn 1 system and then have to learn another as a Senior in high school because the state they are going to attend University in uses an alternate code.
At least so far as the PreTexT project, it seems reasonable to make an attempt at getting UEB Technical up and going alongside Nemeth.
If no one is actively working on this, I am happy to work toward setting this up and basically setting up a UEBTechnical alongside Nemeth in the to see if it is feasible so that open Math and Science Textbooks can be generated to the needs of the student.
