It's been a while, but here is the first of the tactical challenges I promised. I decided to make it optional just like the other combat-related tweaks.
This change makes the "Lesser Tanar'ri" in the dungeon in Fireleaf Forest actual lesser tanar'ri; a succubus and two maurezhi. They will now work as a group instead of being spread out over the dungeon, and they have all their P&P powers I could implement except the ability to gate in other demons. A succubus has a 40% chance to gate in a balor, which is a true tanar'ri and as such little too much for a BG1 encounter. However, at the hardest difficulty level she will call up a few invisible stalkers. For flavor I also spread a few fell ghasts around the rest of the dungeon.
The encounter makes a fairly challenging fight for a level 6-8 party; the maurezhi can summon ghouls and cast Animate Dead so they get a lot of flunkies, and the succubus can charm party members (especially males) and drain levels. Since the whole encounter is completely avoidable I don't think the difficulty will be an issue.
