Briefly describe your research focus: My research interest resides in environmental factors, genetic markers and gene-environmental interactions in skin aging manifestation. The distinctive impact of environmental and life-style factors may also differ between populations. Particularly, I focus on long-term effects of air pollution exposure on skin-related outcomes, its susceptibility and interactions with genes in skin aging process.

State your reasons for wishing to attend the SID Annual Meeting: The SID Annual Meeting offers a broad array of special tracks, plenary lectures, symposia, and networking sessions from multiple specialties and disciplines in cutaneous biology. As a young investigators, I will have chance to hear a bunch of valuable presentations in dermatology and cutaneous biology and also interact with a diverse group of investigators and dermatologists from basic research, clinic trial and industry from all over the world. At the same time, it is a good opportunity to present our project “environmental exposures and associated genetic factors for skin aging”. I would love to converse with thought leaders from around the globe on ethnic difference of skin aging and the distinctive impact of environmental factors, and their discussion and suggestion will definitely inspire innovative research ideas and cultivate new cooperation.

Briefly state relevant financial reasons for requesting meeting travel support: As...I still do not have my independent research grants, while the round flight from Shanghai to Albuquerque will cost around $1700 by the economy class including taxes and fees. Therefore, I would greatly appreciate “The Albert M. Kligman Fellowship Fund” covering my travel fee for the SID 73rd Annual Meeting. The financial support certainly will ensure my attending the conference, on which I can present my work, share common interests and interact with colleagues.
