No sure how often @Spice-King is able to work on this, but for what it's worth, @wintersleepAI has been maintaining a fork with several additional features: https://github.com/wintersleepAI/foundry-swnr
Amazing! Can I migrate my current game onto the fork?

I don't know how one might go about doing that, personally. I would defer to wintersleepAI.
On paper, I've set the compatible version on the package admin site to 9 since April, which should have marked it as compatible without needing to make a release to bump it. I've looped in FVTT staff to take a look at why it's not working, but I've tried everything on my end, given this feature in Foundry is explicitly noted to exist.
@dodgepong Not abandoned yet, just life and work keeps me from being able to get a large enough block of time to try and chew on features. Bugs and small issues are easy to work on still.
@LawrenceNewport Was told the missing step, clicking update on the system will update the compatibility flags to match what I've set via the admin portal.
Brilliant game system - works very well but Foundry is flagging version compatibility issue.
