New UI comments #245

First I'd like to say that overall I enjoy the new UI. It's definitely an improvement and looks more modern.

I have 2 quick comments about the new UI. Nothing major and take it with a grain of salt. I'm not a designer, just a user.

First, on the main/home section where it lists all your items. The placement of the categories name on top of the item name, plus the similar size, makes it really difficult to see your item name. Especially when you have a long list and when you are scrolling. My suggestion would be to decrease the size of the category name, or find a new placement for it, or remove it altogether since you have the icons already.

example 1

and 2nd, when you click the "+" icon to create a new entry in the top right corner, the next action you need to take is to choose a category from the very bottom of the app. I personally think it's not a good UX to place these 2 steps so far away from each other. The category icons should probably come down from the top of the app, or somewhere much closer to the first action.

Yeah, I agree with both of these.

Note: the odd "menu at the bottom, button at the top" is a cross platform issue. The + button is also on the bottom on mobile. But it looked wrong on desktop :/

Thanks for the feedback, @FranciscoG. Both points are valid. Some thoughts: 1) Re: Labels – We'll be working on this over the coming releases as we gather more feedback of what people want in their password manager (eg, rich icons, custom labels, no labels, etc). 2) Definitely this should behave differently on desktop, eg a drop down list. We're also experimenting with other ideas, too, such as alternate layouts for the New Item interface that eliminates this step. There's a lot to consider.
