SketchyPhysics 3.2 Update #80

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Download file "SetupSketchyPhysics3.2-Dec2"
2. Open and run
3. View Install Wizard

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Sketchy Physics has quit working - we have version 3.1, and it will no longer
work - when you run the simulation it says that the update to 3.2 is required.
When we download the update and run the installation wizard, the product it
wants to install is 3.1 - not 3.2 like we need.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
We are using Sketchup8 and SP3.1 on Windows 2007.

Please provide any additional information below.
We love Sketchy Physics!!

Similar problem with update 3.2.
Loads but only runs as 3.1.
Update manual or automatic flashes updater screen so quick had to set a screen
capture to see it but SketchyPhysics remains at 3.1 !
Any solutions to get 3.2 on a windows 7 ?

regards John

did anyone figure out the solution for this? I essentially can't use Sketchy
physics because I installed 3.2, but it is being call 3.1 in sketchup (version
8) and won't let me access joint properties because a "need sketchy physics
version 3.2"

Same problem -- Can create a joint, but no properties box opens, and when I
click joint connector, "Requires SketchyPhysics 3.2" pops up in upper the
right-hand corner.

I downloaded and installed the SP3.2 Windows executable.

Win7 64-bit, SU8. Fresh install (no previous sketchup or sketchyphysics on this
machine)

Same problem, and worse: cannot give names to joints, as well as other items.
Same error message.
The SetupSketchyPhysics3.2-Dec2 installer does install the 3.1. version. The
autoupdate function does not do the job.

Win7 64-bit

I have the same problem i have reinstalled both Sketch up and spetchyphysics
numerous times and hinges and joints just will not work. U have spent HOURS
trawling the web for an answer and nothing. The first post here is 23/5/2011
... IMPRESSIVE ......over a year without any resolution to a problem a lot of
people are taking about. Very Impressive.

For the Joint Connector issue:

Go to the SketchyPhysics folder (C:\Program Files\Google\Google SketchUp
8\Plugins\SketchyPhysics3) and find the file "input.rb". Open it with Notepad.

Change this line:
return (($win32GetKeyStateFunc.call(key)>>16)!=0)

To:

return (($win32GetKeyStateFunc.call(key)>>VK_LCONTROL)!=0)

Save the file and run SketchUp 8 again. It should work now.

WARNING: It only works with the LEFT Control key. It doesn't work with the
RIGHT Control key.

I did modify input.rb but it does not solve the problem for me. I do get the
message "Requires SketchyPhysics 3.2" printed in green in the leftmost corner
as soon I put a solid floor or any SketchyPhysics objects.

I downloaded the installer (Win7 64-bit) and have the same problem. I just
started using Sketchup a few days ago, so I've just started to look at
SketchyPhysics and can only speak from my observation, but it seems like this
plugin is abandoned. The "latest" version is two years old?! Yeah, I wouldn't
count on the developer(s) regaining interest in this project.

being 3.2 but is 3.1....

i have downloaded 3.2 but it installed 3.1, any idea how to have the exact 3.2?
I am currently using sketchup 2013 and seems to work fine except for few sudden
force close and joint connector says sketchyphysics 3.2 is required. Any
solutions?
