Hey guys, I'm about to close this issue. I think I've found a good solution to 
the problem - can anyone comment? @Skye Could you pull this revision and test 
it on SVO? :)

If it works, then I'm fine with having this be the fix just since it is easier 
to do (and probably a bit better performance).
