Assign custom tags #48

It would be nice to have the possibility to assign custom tags to movies,
e.g. HD/SD, 720p/1080p, Archive (meaning DoNotDelete!) etc. and have the
possibility to sort based on them.

In fact this would provide similar functionality like the directory structure a
lot
of us use. e.g. my movies are in /share/Video, where I have HD, SD and TV
subdirs, in
SD I use NoSubs, Watched, Archive. Now the watched is supposed to be similar to
your
"Mark" functionality (which does not work for me) but it would be nice to have
it
extended to s/t like "Apply custom tags".

I completely agree with the ability to tag the content based on other features
of the
content. I aggregated a good amount of non-HD content before bluray became
popular
and I'd like to keep that content, but don't want to sift through it each time
I go
looking for a movie.

I currently just sort by Age so the older non-HD files are moved to the end of
oversight, but it would be nice to be able to filter out the non-HD items.

This seems somewhat similar to the TV / Movies filter at the top of oversight.
There
are a number of ways to achieve this, but I assume there is a way to check the
resolution of the file and anything <= 480 would be considered "Standard" and
anything greater would be considered HD. The designation of 480 vs 720 vs 1080
might
be a little harder thanks to varying aspect ratios and encoding differences,
but I'm
sure it could be done.

I agree, even if the width of the movies should be the same - 1280pix for
720p/HDready, 1920pix for 1080p/FullHD. Havent seen too much of other
resolutions
(maybe in pr0n but it's offtopic ;oP )

As slready discussed on NMT forums, the custom tags can also have another use,
when a
user can tag specific content according to language. I have some Indian/Hindi
movies,
which could be tagged as Bollywood and easily filtered out. Glad so many people
see
some value in this feature.

It would also be nice to automatically tag movies/shows as HD or SD, like the
YAMJ
jukebox does.
