Bad unicode set to Eversion?

plots are stored in utf-8 chars. In french texts there's a lot of Ã?
Result, in plot.db, string is truncated at 800 chars length and only the Ã 
remain at the end of the string
When xml is generated for eversion (for example Other_Movies_2.xml) the tag 
</plot> becomes Ã</plot> which is not valid for eversion
example with imdb:tt0241527 'Harry Potter...'
Can you insert a space before </plot> or take care of utf-8 truncating
