apologies, i'm a total rust noob, and i just stumbled on this searching github for apc step sequencer remote scripts.

is octothorpe in a state where it's usable by others? if so, do i need to build an executable from the source in this repo? and do i need to be running jack audio also?

thanks for any help you might be able to give!

Hey there, thanks for your interest in this project and sorry for my very late response.

I've written this to turn my APC40 + APC20 into a step sequencer for linux + jack. This project is completely dependent on Jack audio for the main timing/transport logic.

The general idea is to create a 16 channel step sequencer that can record any MIDI source into patterns, play those patterns back by use of phrases (check non-sequencer for my inspiration). Next to that it should be able to record midi CC and route that via OSC to any OSC sink.

It used to be working for APC40 only, but i wanted 16 channels instead of 8, so i got an extra APC20. It's not usable by others for now, and i still need some time to get it to a point where it is usable for me. When i get it to that point i also plan to make it work for APC40 only, but this will take a while.

Here is a picture of my current setup as a teaser :)
