What type of system are you trying to connect to?

If you are able to connect, what is the output of "echo $TERM", "uname -a",
and any other relevant information on the host?

Sorry, I tried to submit this issue from my phone and it was a big FAIL.

I meant "Please allow several attempts for key passphrases".

When a wrong (or mistyped, as it happens with on-screen keyboards) passphrase 
is given, connectbot falls back to a password authentication, with no choice 
but closing and restarting connectbot.
