clear and simple installation instructions on linux #312

Would it be possible to have complete, clear, simple and up-to-date installation instructions using a fresh conda environment (or a python venv) on linux? Is it possible to not start with the ldm repository? Is it possible to use a more recent pytorch version (such as 2.x)?
