Maggie's feedback (DISCLAIMER: I was super-duper nit-picky with this, so don't feel like you have to make these changes!! For whatever reason this just made more sense to me. See if you agree/disagree! :) )
"Welcome to Foundry" Suggested edit: "Foundry is an online platform that allows you to create and manage teams of experts. Foundry allows you to create a team workflow, guide the team's communication and collaboration efforts, and monitor the team's progress."
"Team Roles" I feel like an example could be useful here (a picture would be the most helpful but I know we aren't quite there yet). But I think a simple example of what a "role-based member is" might be helpful:
"In this panel, you can add role-based members to the team. For example, a team for creating a children's book might want add a illustrator to the team."
"Customize Each Role" Suggested edit: "Once you've added a role, you can assign it to category and specify the necessary skills for that role based on the oDesk platform."
"Interactive Task-Based Timeline" Suggested edit: This is the timeline. You can click to add an event and customize it.
"Customize the Events" I don't think this one is necessary because when you click to add and event, the pop-up form shows automatically and it's super self-explanatory. Also I feel like the tour is kind of long, so eliminating unnecessary steps might be good.
"Calendar Interface Interactions" Also think this one is unnecessary. I feel like this functionality represents the kind of "expert use shortcuts" that Michael talked about in 142-- basically it's an added functionality for the more frequent, "expert" users who discover it, but since changing the start/end time and duration is something you can accomplish by editing the popover, explaining this additional shortcut in the tour this adds unnecessary complexity for the beginning user.
"Google Drive Integration" Suggested edit: "Google Drive folders are automatically created for each event. Workers can upload their work to the folders by clicking 'Upload' on the event."
Bug(?) I experienced a glitch where I would create a new team, start the tour, press "next" a few times. Then when I would go back and create a new team, that team's tour would start where the previous one left off. BUT I cannot get the bug to repeat itself, so I'm not super worried. Could be something specific to my computer.
This pull request contains a tour/walkthrough feature for the author in author mode as well as the expert workers.
Click the button in the upper left hand corner to star the walkthrough. Should always start from the first step, even when you refresh or close and re-open the tour. [may decide against this later, but we need to do this now because when you open a different team without the reset, it would open to the middle of the tour].
Check that the tour works and makes sense in both modes.
Check to make sure it does not interfere with interacting with the team and drawing it.
Should have nothing to do with this, but make sure it doesn't interfere with the data being drawn or appearing on reload [team members, events, etc.]
Look what happens when you star the tour, end it, and go to a new team. [should start over]
