Hi, for my macpro 3.1 from the beginning of 2008 I downloaded the file, I compiled the app with xcode, I carried out the procedure for the realization of the pen drive, I started the mac from the usb and everything is ok .. but when I type open bigmac2 or other functions such as disk utility or other the command does not work, I can turn off or restart but nothing else ... I redid the pen dirive twice but with the same result ...

The compiled version is 2.10, but with 2.09 I had the same result. I installed bigsur last September, the bigmac2 version was older than this one, I don't remember the version but I had no problems... I installed bigsur last September, the bigmac2 version was older than this one, I don't remember the version but I had no problems. The only difference is that the version used with big sur was already compiled, but with this last one I had to compile with Xcode, I don't want this to be the problem ...

I can't get it to work either. I boot from bigmac it seems to be loading and then it says it fails and needs to restart. I tried compiling 2.7 as well from august. did not work. Hopefully Bigmac 3 will fix the boot problems.

it's called a race condition. And only way around it on the 3,1 Mac Pro is OCLP. BigMac2 can integrate with it. Simply put OCLP on its own USB stick / EFI partition. BigMac can go on the same stick or probably better to go on a separate stick. Recommend the fastest memory sticks to use bigmac or the 4x top slot with a 2.5" SSD card.
