An irrigation system you can place on one side of your farm, that takes up 1 tile width, rotatable, and is 6-12 tiles long. With a track beneath it that controls how far the tires go. This activates in the morning and sprays all of the plants in its path. This moves at one tile per 10 game minutes so if you have a very wide field to water, it will take it a while to get across the entire field. This resets back to its original position once it has reached the other end.
This is an irrigator fed by a water ditch, sucking up water along the ditch to send it out along its path.
This is a hose-fed irrigator , probably the better option.
