What does this service do?

CryptPad is a collaborative office suite that is end-to-end encrypted and open-source. CryptPad includes all the tools needed for productive collaboration: spreadsheet, text, presentation, form, kanban, whiteboard, and more...

All data on CryptPad is encrypted in the client side browser. This means no readable data leaves the user's device. Even the service administrators cannot see the content of documents or user data.

How does this service work?

CryptPad has a docker image. It is promoted by the developers (xwiki) as fully open source - free software so anyone can install and offer the service. They have a page listing instances that are open to the public (https://cryptpad.org/instances/)

NOTE: CryptPad packaging has been completed (https://github.com/chrisguida/cryptpad-wrapper/). A number of volunteers has been doing Alpha testing. The testing phase is complete and issues found are being resolved. After these issues are addressed, there will be a beta release. If no major issues are found in beta testing, the project will be ready for a production release.

This was started with a community fundraiser: (https://bgvj7olvkzdj4dbkd75khpmju42h7zlvkdj6qdthpck4diaqyi4uc7yd.local/apps/3rUfqT7q3aG8NUMR5muSWVZk7MZj/crowdfund) that raised 122% of its target.

A second fundraiser to pay for the Alpha testing issue resolution and Beta/Production packaging will go live shortly.
