Pretty sure this is an issue with element, not synapse

Anyway, this isn't happening to me. Have you tried a different client?

Yes. Isn't this only on TorBrowser when using Element? I remember this happening on Conduit as well when connecting to .onion homeserver.

Can confirm it's only Tor Browser, works fine in Firefox.
