Advanced Search #162

There's already a bit of an "Advanced Search" section on the SteamDB, but it's limited to "Name", "App Type", and "Category". I'd like two things in regards to Advanced Search. One, the ability to access Advanced Search from anywhere on the SteamDB. Preferably a dropdown or other small icon next to the current search located on the tool bar. Second, I'd like the ability to cross-reference categories so I could search for games which, say, support both Full Controller and Local co-op, for games which allow for "Couch co-op"/Split-screen.

Essentially, I'd like the Categories selector changed from a dropdown to a list of checkboxes and the Advanced Search given a dedicated page.

To add to this, the ability to search by developer would be convenient as well, since there's already dedicated pages for developers but reaching them first requires finding a game which the developer is credited as creating.

I'd also like to be able to search by OS' supported, languages supported, and subtitle support.

Was going to make a similar request there. Sadly no one answered here yet. I totally support the idea of multiple search filters - possibility to filter search results (or whole db) using a combinations of a few genres and a few categories (co-op, etc). It's really bad it is impossible to do so on steam store itself. It is also very important to have filters to cover essential Additional Information data, like apps / packages :

And the most important for me - to have all mentioned filters for My Apps section - it's always an insanely long co-optimus search journey when I try to find out, say, which of my platformer games have local co-op feature.

It also should be possible to filter items that are on sale - so when the big sale is happening I could easily find a deal for, let's say, action+adventure game with co-op+trading cards.

And finally it would be useful if there was more links to filters like "(More by this developer)" on app/package pages, for example - for app type, developer, license type, billing type, etc. And active links to filters on pictograms too - for example I'm on a page for a co-op game, and I see co-op pictogram, click it and it will take me to advanced search page with that filter. Same for operating systems.

We really want to add more advanced search features to SteamDB, but with the way the database is set up and the amount of data it contains (and could return in a search query) it's really hard to get it right. It's something we look at all the time but haven't found a good solution to yet.

Keyvalue search has been available for logged in users for a couple of months now.
