These techs are there, in part, because Lithoids can get not-Lithoids in their empire. I propose we greatly reduce the frequency if they don't have such pops. If we do it right they'd still pop up from time to time, but by the time they would become a nuisance, researching them will take no time at all.
I mean that it pops up in the early game-ish. I figured you could add an "any_owned_pop = { NOT = { has_trait = trait_lithoid } }" in there in the potential field or something of the sort for the relevant food techs.
Food is essentially useless to Lithoid empires. I propose that they are unable to research these upgrades unless there is a food-using pop in their empire. It just clutters up the tech tree for no benefit. Perhaps a similar treatment to regular Machines and Determined Exterminators?
