Stellarium freezing at start up MacOS #1183

I would open my stellarium and it would load but freeze at “telescope control” plugin. After reinstalling the program and does it again. My version is 0.20.2

I can't even load up the program to do anything. It's stuck frozen on the boot up of Stellarium. I get no response when connected and when not connected. Stellarium becomes unresponsive.

I encountered this same issue. I used "force quit" to kill Stellarium and restarts would hang with the status bar at the bottom of the initial launch flash modal reporting "Telescope Control".

Eventually, I found my way to ~/Library/ApplicationSupport/Stellarium. I opened config.ini and toggled TelescopeControl from true to false. After that Stellarium would start. After restart the configure button on the Telescope Control panel under Configure in Stellarium was greyed out. I could not enter the configuration controls.

Inside ~/Library/ApplicationSupport/Stellarium/modules/TelescopeControl/, I found telescopes.json and switched "connect_at_startup" from true to false. With these changes (using a text editor instead of the Stellarium Gui...), I am now able to launch Stellarium and access the Telescope Control configuration panels under Configure >> Plugins.

I think everything is configured correctly. The serial port I selected is /dev/tty.usbserial-0001. This object disappears and reappears when I plug in the USB cord connected to the Go To mount. When I click start to turn on the connection between Stellarium and the Go To mount, a spinning beach ball appears and nothing happens. I have to force quit stellarium.

I am using a Meade LXD75AT Equatorial Mount and am connected to a Meade Audiostar handset.

I welcome any advice! Here is the output of log.txt.
