EQMOD Altitude marker position incorrect on Planetarium #1472

Open SolarPoweredWok opened 3 years ago

SolarPoweredWok commented 3 years ago

Expected Behaviour

EQ6R-PRO marker should be displayed at the SCP based on EQMOD Coordinates. ( I am in Australia)

Actual Behaviour

Fresh install of Stellarium. EQ6R PRO Marker EQMOD position not correct in marker displayed

not displayed at its actual EQMOD coordinates on 3 different computers running Win 7 and Win 10.

Steps to reproduce.

Please refer to screen shot attached which shows Stellariums SCP, EQMOD Coords, thedisplayed EQ6R PRO Marker and Stellariums User Location. Location coordinates are the same in EQMOD and Stellarium as is time zone and system clocks. JNow is used in EQMOD and Stellarium such that the SCP is displayed in correct place. SCP Altitude is displayed correct per my location Latitude. The EQ6R PRO is in "Home position" as shown in EQMOD showing Az at 180 Deg and Alt at -34Deg 36min 53 sec. (My latitude).

The problem is that the EQ6R PRO marker is displayed with Alt Coordinate of 34Deg 35min 29 Sec. An error of 1 min 25 sec. from the SCP. Hoping there is a reason and a fix for this error.

alex-w commented 3 years ago

Sorry, no progress, because I was haven't time to investigate the problem (I have Windows at the work and no free time) :(

Hi @SolarPoweredWok! Could you check the coordinates when atmosphere is disabled?

SolarPoweredWok commented 3 years ago

The Atmospheric Visualization was already disabled in Stellarium. It not a parameter I have turned on either in the past.
