@10110111 Could this plugin be used to facilitate the insertion of extra nebula images?

Could this plugin be used to facilitate the insertion of extra nebula images?

What should its output be in this use case? A undistorted (and rotated?) image? Some JSON text?

I'll be honest: astrophotography is - by decision - not my cup of tea. Nevertheless I gave this plugin a try and it's great.

Not sure I'm following the intended use case, but here I compare a picture with Stellarium output:

Synthetic Stellarium computed imagery, astrocal matching the image time data : image

Superposed photograph: image

Overview image

So at first sight the astrocal tool is remarkably accurate.

it's almost suspect... image

I guess I might not be using this tool the correct way, nevertheless it's great @10110111

So the next step could be to merge such a processed image of some DSO into the user's nebula library. (Of course, not of a comet... Does not make much sense.)

(These comments actually belong in a separate issue...)
