If you re-install 1.1.8, does the problem go away? Testing this will ensure the
problem is actually with 1.1.9 and not something else that happened to occur at
the
same time you upgraded.
It could be a problem with loading demos from a certain path or with a certain
filename. Try placing a demo in a root directory, rename it to something simple
(e.g.
c:\1.dem) and then try to open it.
Can you navigate using the file system treeview to demos that won't open by
executing
them?
Look for config.xml in "shell:Local AppData\compLexity Demo Player" (enter this
into
the address bar in Windows Explorer or in the search bar in the Start menu).
Make
sure it's not set to read-only. Also try opening it in a text editor and
setting the
AssociateWithDemFiles element to true.

Hello, when I reinstalled version 1.1.8, the problem is gone.
I've tested the location of the demo, when the demo is in personal folders in
Windows
7 Spanish, for example: "Downloads", "Documents," etc., the problem occurs. (I
also
moved all personal folders to D, the system automatically create link in the
old
place to D and hide it)
Yes, I can use the treeview file system to locate and open the file.
The config.xml file is read-only. When I open the file in the folder mentioned
above,
in the config.xml LastPath shows me as "D:\Users\MyUserName" (remember that I
moved
all personal folders to D:\Users\MyUserName\).
When I try to associate the *.dem opening the program in Administrator mode, I
can
associate, at that time if I close the program the AssociateWithDemFiles is
true in
config.xml, but when reopen it as a normal user, the checkbox wasn't mark and
the
configuration returns me false.

Ok, I think I've fixed the problem. Try replacing the attached executable with
yours
in Program Files\compLexity Demo Player and see if the fix works.
As for the "Associate with *.dem files" checkbox, it really should be "Check
*.dem
file association on startup" with a separate button to associate with demo
files.
Other than that, the behaviour of the checkbox clearing if you don't start with
an
admin account is normal and won't affect demo file association unless another
program
changes it.

Ok, the problem is now fixed with the patch. I also have another problem with
HLAE, but
that problem is coming from the old version, I will comment that on another
topic.
Thank you.
