Dexcom G5 won't connect with Galaxy S6 #311

My config data is a Verizon Phone, Android 5.1.1 Dexcom Share upgraded to G5 via software update.

I have setup xDrip to use the dexcom G5. I restarted the phone, tried to scan for BT devices via the phone, and restarted the collector. Since alpha version for G5 doesn't have a scan for device, and I uninstalled the old app, I am not sure how to tell xDrip to connect, other than the configuration screen.

I have not done anything with Data Sync, since I believe this is only applicable after data collection. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Do we have to discover the G5 BT device? If Yes, is that only available during the startup of a new sensor?

I setup store logs, which shows me: G5CollectionService unknown error writing descriptor

I suspect it has not found the device, and am contmeplating an uninstall/reinstall. I suspect I missed something simple, but after some QA work years ago on alpha software, I realize it might not be as straight forward as I hope.

Thanks Rob

Good news, it started working sometime overnight. I do have several Bluetooth devices (Up3, Pebble Watch, and occasionally a bluetooth headset). Last night, my G5 receiver quit receiving data, and I turned off the Bluetooth earpiece I had left connected for a phone call.

Checking last night, xDrip was still not receiving data, but I saw the heading to insert two calibration values earlier this morning, and it has been working now for over an hour.

I will keep monitoring to see if the number of Bluetooth Devices has a noticeable impact, since I noticed another user having issues with missing readings.

Thanks Rob
