When using the /reset service, Is the current pose of the robot not important for ODOM calculations? #686

When using the /reset service, Is the current pose of the robot not important for ODOM calculations?

For example, If a set the state of a robot to the other side of the map and then call /reset, am i good to go? I ask this because when deserialising a map it asks for an initial pose.
