Closed smcclosr closed 2 years ago

smcclosr commented 2 years ago

For the web app https://app.ringcentral.com, the following domains need to be removed:

som.ringcentral.com mpsnare.iesnare.com

from the lists:

master/hosts master/alternates/fakenews-gambling-porn/hosts

Once they are whitelisted, the site works.

Hello @smcclosr thank you for this.

The domain som.ringcentral.com comes to us via Adguard-cname list. As such, this domain in a DNS CNAME cloak for ringcentral.com.ssl.sc.omtrdc.net. As per:

$ dig som.ringcentral.com

ringcentral.com.ssl.sc.omtrdc.net. 180 IN A 63.140.38.123

My guess is, that's not gonna get removed.

The domain mpsnare.iesnare.com comes to us from two lists: adaway.org and mvps.org, therefore it's double-sourced. That said, the mvps.org list may be dropped soon. As for its inclusion in the adaway.org list, you can always try making your case at https://github.com/AdAway/adaway.github.io/issues. Ping @jawz101 about that.
