Small filtering glitch #77

For example, if I type @a, hit the backspace only leaving the @ symbol and start typing again, the filtering stops working.

This hinders the user experience 'cause if the user accidentally types a wrong character he/she then has to delete the @ symbol too and start over.

Can this be fixed please?
