Tested on r2283, the intro movies not showing is a GSdx HW only issue, both SW
mode
and ZeroGS plays fine:

The game has most media on AFS format (MPEG-1 for movies, possibly). As for the
pink
squares I am not sure, the HUD is not rendered at all on D3D9 HW mode and then
sometimes the pink squares are on SW mode:

ZeroGS crashes once one gets control over the character (when the HUD is about
to
appear), so I can't confirm if it's an issue with the emulator or the graphic
plugins, rounding modes didn't affect the output.

Blockdump for the movies only, just mash start to skip the opening movie,
select new
game, easy mode, and then wait for the now loading screen the 3 images on top
are on
the dump.
A .gs dump might be better for the other issue supposing it is the plugin's
fault
rather than pcsx2.

Logos and OP movie plays fine on HW:
GSdx [HW] : Certain Movies not showing.
GSdx [HW/SW]: Missing, corruption or artifacts on HUD / HUD: red square on
Health
indicator.
I don't know how to reproduce the pink squares glitch shown above, sometimes I
get
black squares instead and other times just nothing, switching between SW to HW
clears
the squares leaving the missing HUD elements, it looks like something is not
being
cleared, the ingame movies could have the same problem on HW.
Aside the MAP display fine on both modes, on HW the HUD misses the Health
indicator
which only display a black square and to the right the 'hotkeys' are missing,
SW only
has the red square artifact which could be likely be a layer depth issue or an
alpha
issue, though I haven't seen SW doing this on other games.

ZeroGS crashes once ingame right before the game becomes barely playable, but it
should be aside a different issue, it looks definitevely more severe than the
corruption issue.

Even as of 2013 there is no fix, I tried every possible combination and still
the HUD has pink boxes sucks I won't be able to play this in 1080p :(. Also SW
has a red box on the health orb, berserk meter is missing, and weapon meters
don't fill up.

I can confirm the bug is still there as of version 5645! Would really
appreciate if one of the devs can fix this now that an English Patch has been
released!

The pinks squares are gone using rev5685 GSdx dx11 hardware. Instead there's
just a translucent square where the health bar is place(top left corner).

Try going into "emulation settings" then "game fixes". check the "enable manual
game fixes" box. one of the boxes that is now selectable is "switch to GSdx
software rendering when a FMV plays". check that box and the FMV movies should
play in Berserk, while keeping your hi rez hardware rendering for the 3D parts.
I dont have a DX11 card so I'm still messing with settings to get the HUD to
appear.

Wouldn't it be possible to set in the game-database that for this game PCSX2
automatically plays FMV with software rendering, instead of always forcing the
user to manually activate the hack?
