Star Wars Jedi Starfighter [NTSC] Restarts after mission complete #411

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
1) Did the game ever work correctly (i.e. not have this problem) on the
Official PCSX2 build or an earlier version of PCSX2 playground?
(If so, please specify the latest pcsx2-playground or Official revision
that last worked.)
Not on the revs I tested.

2) What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Complete a training or mission 1
2. After mission complete a short black screen
3. Game restarts.

3) What exactly happens when you experience this issue (listing any console
errors or screen output you recieve)?
When i start the game it says:
LECGL Info, ________________________________________________
LECGL Info, Welcome to LecGL
LECGL Info, Optimized version
LECGL Info, Reporting Disabled
LECGL Info, ________________________________________________
LecGL USB initialization success.
LECGL Err, Resampling Image from [1, 1, 8] to [8, 8, 8]
LECGL Err, Resampling Image from [1, 1, 8] to [8, 8, 8]
LECGL Err, Resampling Image from [1, 1, 8] to [8, 8, 8]

When i finish a mission it says:
m_num_fonts == 4
[0] Arial(200) delta( -12, -97 )
[1] Arial(160) delta( -10, -75 )
[2] Arial(240) delta( -15, -115 )
[3] Aura(200) delta( 3, -80 )
LECGL Err, Resampling Image from [1, 1, 8] to [8, 8, 8]
after this a short black screen then:
# Restart.
# Initialize GS ...
# Initialize INTC ...
# Initialize TIMER ...
# Initialize DMAC ...
# Initialize VU1 ...
# Initialize VIF1 ...
# Initialize GIF ...
# Initialize VU0 ...
# Initialize VIF0 ...
# Initialize IPU ...
# Initialize FPU ...
# Initialize User Memory ...
# Initialize Scratch Pad ...
# Restart Done.
and then the intro shows(game has restarted)
Seems to me that PCSX2 hates that Lecgl library this game uses.

4) What version of PCSX2 are you using? On what operating system?
Tested on the latest beta from the site, 0.9.6, r719, r1385 all are the
same on Windows 7 x64 and Windows XP Pro SP3 x86.

5) Please provide any additional information below.
Other than that there are some graphical bugs, slowdowns to like 30 fps in
some scenes and music is a high pitched sound that nearly left me deaf when
using SPU2-X but i didn't mind those (things like that happen in emulation
business :) ).
Oh and btw in your compatibility list it says the game is PLAYABLE, if you
can tell me how to make it so I would highly appreciate that since I tried
all combinations of settings i know.

L.E : Tried with GSDX DirectX10 and 9 software mode and it gives a green screen
when
you try to start a mission if i change the renderer ingame it doesn't give this
problem, also the game is slightly faster in software mode.

OK, try disabling the VUrecs or even the EErec and see what happens. Also try
using
ZeroGS, changing roundmodes and clamping

Also with the SPU2-X r4872 this game loops the first 3 seconds of every music,
its better than the horrendous beep from before, but in ZeroSPU r4909 it works
no problem.

An update on this issue:
using the latest as of now r5140, the sound works fine with SPU2-X, there are
no more graphic glitches with GSDX and the other problem with the game
restarting after completing a mission has disappeared.
It appears that the SPU2-X change from r5139 fixed all this games audio
problems, and the restarts.

Issue can be closed now.

Cool, never thought volume slides could cause emulation issues like that.
