In recent versions I have been more often (maybe half of cycles?) seeing the avgerage (spherical shell) FSC represented at much lower resolution that would be inferred by visual inspection of all the other conical FSC curves in a given plot.
I haven't changed anything in the core of the FSC code, so I don't immediately suspect this.
It seems more likely to be related to a change in the wgts - perhaps regions that are actually poorly sampled are being weighted to strongly. These are excluded in many cones, and previously were downweighted in the spherical sections.
