Either you install it directly via Cydia or, in case you've installed apt-get
and sudo before (via Cydia) then use "sudo apt-get install ping"
Now my personal advice: If you don't know how to install anything on a
linux-based system (which you don't) and don't know what "command not found"
means (which you don't actually), then please stay away from the command-line
for now, read a book about linux and then get back. You'll just screw up some
things

iphone terminal is majorly different from linux systems terminals. i just
assumed ping would be there, like installed the basic commands with terminal
but hey who cares thanks for your help. i cant find it on cydia, but i love
apt-get so ill use aptitude to get it.

you need to install "inetutils" in cydia in order to get the network commands
to work.

The Unix terminal of the iPhone is not at all different from a Linux based
systems terminal (I like Ubuntu :P)
But seriously there's no need to be so hostile, let the dude ask his questions.
Install inetutils from cydia, or if you're feeling brave, you can run 'apt-get
install inetutils' from the Mobile Terminal,
Or if you're like me, you can ssh into your iDevice and do it from another
computer (My preferred method) More fun that way ;)
Good day!
