One issue I tend to have with University main menu's are they seem to be very customized to the site they are on (breakpoints, paddings, sizes, things included in main nav bar like logos).

It makes having a generic version difficult to keep inline.

Our current iteration attempts to follow bootstraps best practices which provides some useful features at the expense of really drilling down on the media queries.

I've reversed engineered so many different versions of the main nav at this point it that its not something I can't say I'm looking forward to doing again. That said, I'm not entirely happy with our current implementation so this is certainly an area we are open to collaboration.

We would love to see a very lightweight, simple example of a hierarchical menu.
