Version: 0.8.3.3 beta

Steps to Reproduce: When not the leader of the server click anything that would open up the browser pop up Attempt to open a browser Fail to do so :(

Expected behavior: Should show the laws, environment, and presidential running screens on an external browser

Actual behavior: Says that the server took too long to respond or that access isnt allowed

Do you have mods installed? Does issue happen when no mods are installed?: Says that the server took too long to respond or that access isnt allowed

@ChrisCisneros Thank your for the reprort. I need some information:

  1. Which kind of internet connection is server owner using?
  2. Does your server owner have external IP address and did he use it in config file?
ChrisCisneros commented 4 years ago

we were able to make more progress. We found the public IP address and created a port forward, however, they don't seem to be working as the server now says that it can't establish a connections.

@ChrisCisneros Thanks for your reply. A few more questions:

ChrisCisneros commented 4 years ago

Yes the host is playing on the same computer. And we did change the ports but to no avail, we first tried to use the public IP address and a port-forward but that didn't work. We also changed the ports to 4000 and 4001 respectively but we still have the issue that the connection timed out.

@ChrisCisneros https://github.com/ChrisCisneros Thanks for your reply. A few more questions:

  • Is the host playing on the same computer as the server is hosted on?
  • If so, did he change his ports off of default? (For example, instead of default ports 3000 and 3001 use ports 4000 and 4001 instead)

It sounds like you are pretty tech savy, but if you have changed the default ports the most common cause is an issue with port forwarding in Windows Firewall or the Router itself.

Is the server being hosted through the client or the dedicated server tool?

ChrisCisneros commented 4 years ago

I went through the firewall and it was already approved through, so I removed it and added it back. I don’t remember exactly how the server was set up. There wasn’t much toggling of anything when the world was created. So I’m assuming it’s running on whatever the default is
