Add critter traps for the hunting profession #1280

Hunting is currently the only profession where players have to go around the map in hopes of finding what they need, and then their output is dependent on their skills and so on. Not to mention animals falling under property rights can make things really difficult if correct laws aren't in place. It might perhaps be interesting to let players transition from hunting with weapons to hunting with traps, similarly to how you deal with fishing.

These traps could be some simple cages that capture the animals, and you could have different tech variants - simple wood ones for small critters, up to iron or steel ones for things like an elk or a bison. After X time they could capture one animal and would need a reset or something not to make normal hunting less viable, but as a way to automate the process a bit.

You'd probably want to avoid using more "menacing" traps like bear traps or depicting the animal corpses inside / next to the trap not to make things too gruesome I guess.

These traps could in the future perhaps be some way to capture wild animals to put in some sort of ranches and farms?

Hrm, I like the idea for taming/farming, but for hunting I don't think its practical for larger animals, for smaller ones, sure.

Honestly I would appreciate better AI pathing of animals (IE not running and running into walls til they rotate enough to get un-stuck) and that they wouldn't "lag" and teleport around so often.

For larger animals the "bear" traps could work, but I follow what you are saying about the depiction, perhaps they could just be laying down or something instead of standing up.

Also I think a way to "stealth" hunt could be nice besides traps. Right now you can "sneak" up on an animal that is asleep or something, but you can't sneak otherwise. Think about a "deer stand" where you could set-up to watch for animals to come by and have 1-shot damage for headshots, or a bleedout effect. However proper "hunting" would require signs that would be left behind so you could track them.
