As a result of an unintended effect in the air filter object in version 1.2 of the the AlteredEco - Utilities for ECO mod by AlteredMinds where the purpose of the object is to remove CO2, can cause the pollution levels to go into negative values thus causing all plant life in the area to die off as a result.
While the game was likely never originally designed to do this, I think it provides an opportunity for future work to be done the ecosystem part of the game where the ultimate goal becomes needing to balance out values, over simply just not having too much, as this would be a realistic simulation of how things actually work.
Case in point, what I assume to be a unintended side-effect of how the pollution system is built, opens up some very interesting possibilities of how it can be expanded and built upon in the future.
