Bug: (ambient_generic) Subtitles quickly passing through on first play. Normal on second #1618

Describe the bug

When I play a sound (typically dialogue, uniquely through an ambient_generic) that has subtitles (NOT closed captions), the first time playing the sound it will run through the subtitles very quickly. If the sound is replayed within the same game session (including going back to the main menu), the subtitles appear normally. This is only with custom audio!

Issue Map

all maps with custom subtitled dialogue being played from ambient_generic

To Reproduce

  1. Enable subtitles
  2. Go in map with custom audio
  3. Experience subtitles running through very quickly the first time

not limited to custom audio, this also occurs with announcer evacuation procedure vo on sp_a1_intro1

It also happens with commentary nodes iirc
