The main idea kinda comes from the fact that I'm trying to get multiple people to switch over to stremio, but their main gripe with it is that it doesn't feel like TV, and I think this idea would somewhat remedy that situation, oh so you could even add some kind of a time based ordering with a menu to show what is playing in each collection/catalog, but that would be kinda extra and i would just be happy with the main idea getting implemented at some point
I also think it would be a feature that I haven't ever seen any other platform try before, i think it would make you guys stand out for the better, paired with the fact that you can sign into different streaming services in stremio, it would make a cross streaming service TV like experience
We have no intention of creating a pseudo tv experience in the app at this point.
Also, this is already possible with addons, an addon developer can create custom series / channels that randomise the episode list and includes episodes of many different series (and even movies), then use the binge watching feature to auto-play between them for the users that enabled auto-play in the settings.
OK the name is kinda clickbaity, essentially all it would be is a framework for adding saved collections of movies and TV series, that can randomly play different episodes of different shows and or movies. With the option to randomly play between TV series in order like: E1 of the Law & Order and then E1 of House then after a few random others, E2 of Law & order and so on. Or just play random episodes from random series. Basically, we already have a way of favoriting TV series and movies, we just need kind of a folder system or a saved categories system that can be configured to randomly play from in these ways, and then you could add that functionality to the add-on SDK so people could make collection catalogs based on TV networks, like an AMC collections catalog might have the walking dead and dark winds and so on, allowing you to have a TV like experience without actually relying on live TV.
