Enhancing Viewer Experience on Stremio: Skip Intro Feature and Actor Insights Request #770

Hey Stremio Team!

Hope you're all doing great. I'm a big fan of what you're doing with Stremio, and I've got a couple of cool ideas that might make it even better for everyone.

Stremio Version and OS: Stremio 1.6.7 on Android TV

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. Absolutely. There are two main issues I’ve encountered:

Describe the solution you'd like

Describe alternatives you've considered

Additional context These features would significantly enhance the viewing experience on Stremio. They are highly requested within the community and have been well-received on other platforms, indicating they would be fantastic additions to Stremio as well.

Thanks for considering my suggestions and for all the effort you put into making Stremio fantastic. I'm excited to see how it continues to evolve!

Cheers,

7roob

I wrote a plugin that allows you to watch materials from vod.tvp.pl. This website also provides information in the API, which informs about how long the initial stages last, the staff, etc. Unfortunately, it is not possible to use this information in Stremio.

it seems as one of the most requested features for stremio https://www.reddit.com/r/StremioAddons/comments/18w5czp/skip_introopening_addon/ https://www.reddit.com/r/Stremio/comments/1712a5q/skip_intro_button_is_possible/

and people want to contribute into developing it

stremio uses mpv as default player , you could use this script for anime https://github.com/synacktraa/ani-skip , and i'm sure crowdsourcing same database for tv shows/movies won't be a problem either

sometimes the intros/openings are marked in chapters (especially in dvd/bluray releases) so if you add chapter selection it may make things easier
