name: Feature request
about: Add libmpv2 support
title: 'Add libmpv2 support for Debian 12'
labels: 'installation, linux, deb, debian, desktop, 64'
assignees: ''
Desktop 4.4.168-1
Desktop amd64 ".deb" package and Debian Lignux 12 (Bookworm)
Installation problems with deb package
I tried to install (from KDE's Discover app and the terminal, through apt) in two different versions and both of them gave me the same dependency problems. No matter what I did (installing the missing ones or forcing the install) , the deb package seems to be pointing to libmpv1 (or just libmpv), so it does not register that I have libmpv2 already installed.
Add libvmpv2 support
Maybe include some options in the deb package to also point to libmpv2. I don't know any coding, so I am sorry if this is not a feasible option; thanks for this great application, would love to donate if there was an official way.
Maybe the user can build libmpv?
I considered installing libmpv1 manually, but this would mean each user should do the same if they want to install the app, therefore it would not be easy for everyone; also, considering the release of said package, it only is available on Debian 11, which is no longer the stable version of Debian.
