Four promising probes were identified using Eve’s aldol assay (details are available here), and SciFinder was used to search for analogues of these probes which could be purchased or synthesised. During this process, it was highlighted that certain parts of the compounds did not appear essential for protein binding.
While searching for chemicals that were commercially available, noting that we had set a rough budget limit of £100 for 100 mg of product, it was observed that many of the compounds exceeded this limit.
Additionally, it was investigated whether any of the compounds were mentioned in recent research papers. For those referenced in recent publications, there might a possibility to contact the research teams to request a sample.
