Iverson Jr MIDI issues #111

Hi.

Just trying out Iverson Jr with my APC Mini. Select APC Mini preset, select APC Mini for MIDI IN & MIDI OUT, all works as expected but the MIDI control and feedback stops after a while. Selecting Slow midi feedback extends the time before it stops. Selecting no device on MIDI OUT then reselecting APC Mini restarts midi feedback, selecting no device on MIDI IN then reselecting APC Mini restarts midi control, until it stops again.

Iverson exhibits the same behaviour but takes considerably longer before MIDI stops working.

Running under Linux.

Further, it occurred to me that having the APC Mini plugged into a hub with several other controllers may be a contributing factor, so I plugged the APC directly into a port on the PC. It now works far longer, but still eventually halts and needs the MIDI IN & OUT resetting. Unfortunately a show stopper for me unless this can be rectified.

Thanks @ContemporaryInsanity for the report. This is a new one for me, I am also mainly running linux, I would like to rectify this.

What version of linux are you running? Does this occur when the APC mini is the only attached controller? What size audio block are you using? Are you using Jack? How long does it take before this bug occurs, I have accidentally left my on overnight, I am assuming your case is quicker than this?

NAME="Linux Mint" VERSION="19.1 (Tessa)" It does. Typically 512, have also tried 256 & 1024. Sometimes ALSA, sometimes JACK (depends on what I'm doing; ALSA for general noodling, JACK for serious recording). Plugged into a hub with other controllers it happens within a minute or two (other controllers unaffected), plugged directly into a port it takes a bit longer, and Slow midi on appears to further extend time before failure as previously stated. I've experienced zero problems with other controllers (including APC Mini) suddenly stopping working for no apparent reason when mapped VIA VCV or Stoermelder MIDI modules.

Was using ALSA midi, have now switched to JACK midi and all appears to be working fine! Nice modules - thank you :)
