Hi,

I just tried to upgrade from R8 (with iText 2.0.8) to 9.0.1 (with iText 2.1.7) 
and I have a text rendering problem.

I attached the files generated by R8 and 9.0.1. With 9.0.1, the text rendering 
at the start of the second page is ugly: I'm wondering if it's not a problem 
with the block moving to the second page as the other blocks on the same page 
are OK.

Rendering tested with Evince on Ubuntu 12.04 and Acrobat Reader on Windows.

If I print both documents, they are fine and exactly identical.

If it doesn't ring a bell, I can provide whatever information is needed to 
diagnose the problem.

The problem is linked to floating text blocks. In every first block on pages other than the first page, the text seems to be blurred. I've enclosed a test case to easily reproduce this issue, and proposed a solution in this pull request : https://github.com/flyingsaucerproject/flyingsaucer/pull/28.
