Running list of user suggestions #114

This is just a running list of suggestions from the users. A separate ticket may be created from any item in this list.

  1. Link Mark2Cure Wikia forum on main site (1 post)
  2. "badges on our profile page to show which campaign each user has helped on. Each campaign could have it's own little badge and then inside the badge might be a percentage or specific color to show how many quests (or points) were completed for that disease." (Skyem)
  3. Copy/paste function (brought up before by Kathy, suggested again in wikia forum by different user, with an agreeing comment)
  4. "I see on dashboard that completed quest are marked with a star. I think could be interesting to see the final solution of the community, of course with no possibility to change anything else" (1 wikia user)
  5. "Issue - Unexpected reflow of text: Sometimes I will see a gene name at the end of a line and double-click it to make it green. Sometimes if the gene name is hyphenated, the word will be turned blue on the first click and before the second click the line is refolded at the the hyphen and my second click just hits white space. This seems to cause some random nearby word to turn green instead. It's very disconcerting! I wonder why merely changing the background color of text causes the refolding. "
  6. Buggy text - "Quest 161 - Small bug in the second line. It won't accept highlighting on the word: 'congential . I think because the apostrophe is there. It highlights gray instead and doesn't get submitted" Same issue observed in Q174.
  7. "I think a time out with a pop-up pointing out that you needed to hit the submit button before your effort was scored (if they missed it in the instructions, like I did) couldn't hurt. Likewise a pop-up after a few minutes to point out where the help button was" (email)
  8. Enable users to return and do practice docs without giving them any more points if they've done it before. (requested by one user Wikia forum)
  9. Consensus bonus points once a quest or doc set closes for the good users who get paired with not-so-good users (eyewire does something like this).
  10. Social share buttons on landing page with default twitter and facebook texts for easy sharing. Current buttons take you to our social media accounts.
  11. Some abstracts aren't articles. but a published commentary on an article. Should these be filtered out?
  12. Option to turn off pre-population. Issues with the pre-population being wrong have made a user request for the option to turn it off instead of having to manually remove all the erroneous markings. Also suggested: using colored outline boxes to show which were machine highlights

Pulled out one suggestion for a separate issue: 1. Use a more yellow-green. Current green (especially as underlines) is hard to distinguish from current blue (2x emails, 2x Wikia posts) (Issue 116)

Not a user suggestion nor a priority, but here instances (edge cases) of wonky relationship doc highlighting as sent in by users. May help with troubleshooting in the future:

Suggestion for this to be broken out into actionable issues with the appropriate tags to identify them as "user suggestions"
