We are making serious stuff. Icon just a must have.

Made 4 variations of a basic logo, very rough drafts but let me know if you're at all interested and I can make some higher res versions or make some alterations:

Another concept, this one's a very very rough draft because I'm using Paint.NET when I should really be using a proper vector image manipulation program.

Haha, this is pure gold. "M" with arrow seems to be alright for the beginning :)

YoshiWalsh commented 10 years ago

The blue or green arrow? I'll try to knock up a better version in Inkscape some time in the next couple of days.

avishnyakov commented 10 years ago

Blue one. Don't worry much, this is not the critical issue.

YoshiWalsh commented 10 years ago

True, but the other issues require more thinking. I find that image editing is a great way to relax before bed. :P

Left for the future R&D.

Reopening this ticket, looking for some input and help to get SPMeta2 Ecosystem shaped up.

It would be nice to have a consistent icon or font set across all current API projects as well as an easy way to plug a new project into the family (so that we won't have to come up with a new design or something, avoid spending tons of time and effort).

Currently, we've a bunch of APIs to simplify SharePoint related development:

Here is the current set of APIs, build/dev and package/distribute, which currently drive the whole SPMeta2 ecosystem. Docs are being redesign and rewritten that way as well.

Build and Deploy

Package and Distribute

A perfect example of what we are looking into is JetBrains' approach over tooling with every tool having a two letter abbrevistion plus an icon. Not being copy-pasters but rather having a pragmatic, working aproach without having need to reenvent a wheel:

Other tooling is to be outside of SPMeta2 ecosystem being fully commercial.

Implemented. Will be pushed with the new docs and branding.
