insert footnotes before next paragraph or section #306

For long documents, the current default of pasting the footnote definition to the end of the document may complicate their management. How about (adding an option to) insert the def at the next paragraph break, or before the next section heading?

Because all occurrences of [^ can easily be found in a text editor, it is IMHO less important to group them together at a certain place in the document.

What's the status of this? I think that this would be very helpful and a good enhancement for MDE.
