SubtitleEdit 3.58 crashes importing .sup file #3251

I imported a .sup file in SubtitleEdit v3.58 and it crashes on export. Just for grins I also tried v3.57 and it works fine. See attached .sup file I used.

Thanks

thx - yes, SE 3.5.8 seems to crash on empty images... fixed here I hope: https://github.com/SubtitleEdit/subtitleedit/releases/download/3.5.8/SubtitleEditBeta.zip

Sorry that didn't work. Here's the long error screen (attached) if that helps.

thx for the screenshot too - beta updated again: https://github.com/SubtitleEdit/subtitleedit/releases/download/3.5.8/SubtitleEditBeta.zip

Good news is, the crash is fixed; great! Now for the initial problem. SubtitleEdit read in a .srt text file OK; I can see the text. Then I exported it as BluRay .sup without any changes; that seemed to work OK. Now if SubtitleEdit Imports the .sup file, I can see the timings but all text is blank. Am I doing something wrong?

I think you got a bad SUP file...

spetragl commented 5 years ago

Good news; I found the problem. I didn't notice I had the wrong Video size and Frame rate. Once I corrected that, the subtitles worked like a charm. Thanks
