[Linux] Hotkeys not working on text box selection #8708

Hello.

I am using Subtitle Edit on Arch Linux, KDE Plasma 6 on Wayland.

  1. When I try to select text inside the text box and italicize it, the hotkey doesn't work. The same thing happens in the subtitle list.
  2. However, when running the italicize command directly through the right-click menu in the subtitle list (Right click > Italic), the hotkey starts working correctly.
  3. What's even more odd, when using the hotkey inside the text box selection AND selecting a word, the whole subtitle is italicized. The expected behaviour is that when selecting part of the text, only the selected part is italicized.

I think there's something going on with the way XWayland receives keyboard input. Thanks for your work.

I think this is probably a Mono issue, sorry.
